Do it yourself! This talk is about how to do home automation with the constrains of low cost, the power of open source soft- and hardware. Everything put together in a rented flat located the middle of Hamburg.
You get a detailed view to some DIY solutions to things you probably want in your own home like remote control lights and sockets or multi room audio.
Every solution is based on the Raspberry Pi and its open source environment but I'll also talk about how to integrate these solutions to Apple Homekit or let Alexa control them. Additionally I'll show briefly how to reverse engineer BLE bulbs and open up the IKEA smart bulb series Tradfri. A variety of open source software was compiled to achieve the different solutions which will be described in a how-to like format.
